FAQ

  • My knives are made from carbon steel, which means they will form a patina over time and they will rust if left wet.

To prevent excessive rust simply hand wash the knife promptly after use with hot water and dry while the blade is hot.

If you choose to oil your blade I recommend using coconut oil over other oils as it won’t turn sticky over time.

Any rust spots can be removed with ‘0000’ steel wool and oil.

  • I recommend sharpening my knives on diamond stones. The set I sell is designed to sharpen quickly while leaving a very fine edge.

How frequently a knife should be sharpened is up to the user, however once a month is a good rule of thumb.

Otherwise you may bring your knife to me for sharpening.

  • Yes. I begin by laminating high carbon steel with other metals in my rolling mill before hand forging the blades with a hammer and anvil. After hardening I grind the blades and fit the bolster and handle materials to the tang of the knife which I then shape into the finished handle.
